HOW WE WORK
You will no doubt agree with us that the photographs are the most permanent record of your wedding day. It therefore follows that in choosing a wedding photographer you will want to be assured of a competent result in terms of picture quality, pictorial content and overall service. To meet such demands we work as a team. This means that for the most important photographs we back each other up so that nothing is lost.
To begin with we always arrive at the wedding venue well ahead of time to get settled in and to allow for any unforseen delays on the journey. If it's a venue not previously known to us we will have visited it several days beforehand to familiarise ouselves with the location and to rehearse the journey. This also applies to the venue for the reception if that is at a separate location.
It follows that photographs taken of the arrivals of the groom and best man, bridesmaids, bride and all other main members of the wedding party will be of a more formal nature. However we seek to capture any moments of informality whenever the opportunity arises. In fact, throughout the day we are constantly reading the situation in order to anticipate and capture those magic moments that will overjoy you when you look back on them.
Photographs taken in church or in a registry office are very much dependent on the cooperation of the minister or registrar conducting the ceremony. We have cameras that are capable of producing acceptable photographs in low light without the need for flash and most ministers and registrars are happy to let us use these provided that we are in no way intrusive upon the proceedings.
The location for photographs following the ceremony will very much depend on space and scenery available. If the situation at the church or registry office is not conducive to good photography we may well suggest that you move swiftly on to the venue for the reception and continue the photography there.
We aim to take all your requested formal photographs of yourselves and your relatives and friend first. This means that your guests are then free to enjoy themselves while we work with the principal members of the wedding party. It is at this time that, working quite separately from each other, we strive to produce as many informal pictures as we can. Naturally we stage certain pictures but it's the moments in between that offer up the opportunity for informality.
It's a sad fact that you can plan everything down to the last little detail for your wedding day but you can never be sure of the weather. Be assured that even when it's pouring down with rain we keep going and use every means at our disposal to still get the best possible photographs and keep a smile on your faces as you will see from the photo below.
In summary, it is our aim to produce a mixture of formal and informal photographs of your very important day that will delight you and your relatives and friends. We strive to do this in a competent yet non-invasive manner. We are there to capture your day in photographs but we are not there to hi-jack it.
